After a journalism career that spanned more than 30 years, Debbie retired from Mississippi State University to fulfill a long-time desire to become a real estate professional. She retired from the Office of Agricultural Communications, where she was a publications editor for the Division of Agriculture, Forestry, and Veterinary Medicine. Her skills and experiences in public relations, marketing, and communications afforded her an easy transition into the professional world of real estate. Debbie earned her bachelor of science degree in journalism and political science from Mississippi University for Women in Columbus, Mississippi, and her masters in social studies from Mississippi State University in Starkville, MS.

Debbie continues to be active in town and campus activities, including Starkville Civic League, Komen Race for the Cure, Rotary, and the Starkville Chamber of Commerce; she is an active communicant of the Episcopal Church of the Resurrection.

In January of 2001, Debbie joined ERA Dominion Fair Realty, Inc., a newly franchised company located in a one-room, 500-square-foot office. In August 2001, the company moved to 123 Main Street (3000 square feet) in the heart of downtown Starkville. In April, 2003, Debbie became the principal owner of the company which then became ERA Town & Campus. This is a testament to the hard work and dedication Debbie has to helping her clients with all of their real estate needs!
